About TLUSA and Troop 40


Christ Centered

Trail Life USA is a Christ-centered, boy-focused character and leadership development program built around outdoor adventure. At Troop 40, we want our sons to grow into young men who know and follow Christ, demonstrate strong character, serve others, and are prepared to lead. Camping, hiking, skills, service, badges, and outdoor adventures give us the setting, but building faith, character, friendships, and leadership is at the heart of what we do.

Family Ministry

Troop 40 is also very intentionally a family ministry, not a youth drop-off program. Our sons need us to be there with them, sharing the campfires, adventures, lessons, challenges, and memories right alongside them. Dads and parents are active participants in the life of the troop, whether helping with a lesson, joining a campout, leading an activity, or simply being
present and engaged with their sons and other families.

Fathers and Sons

Our goal is to create a community where boys build lasting friendships, families grow closer, and fathers and sons have meaningful opportunities to experience life and faith together. Along the way, our Trailmen get to explore the outdoors, try things they have never done before, develop practical skills, take on greater responsibility, and grow into the young men God is calling them to be.
